LDC Round 3: Fenix defeat Capitanes

What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Capitanes (2-1) in Santiago on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by Fenix (3-0) 121-106. Fenix looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for Chilean swingman Juan Valenzuela (191-2000) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Jefry Arias (182-1997) contributed with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Rich Polanco (203-1997, college: S.Dakota) answered with 24 points and 8 rebounds for Capitanes. Fenix's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Santiago Immortals.
Another exciting game for Santiago Basket (1-2) which played on the court of Evolve OL (0-3). Santiago Basket upset home team edging them after exciting game by one point 102-101. Evolve OL was very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. It was a great evening for forward Alejandro Liriano (197-1981) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points. Miguel Almonte helped adding 13 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Braylin Lantigua with 30 points. Santiago Basket's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Santiago Sameji.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Santiago: Santiago Max (#3) and Sameji (#3). Sameji was crushed at home by 34 points 76-110 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It was an exceptional evening for Franklyn Jaquez who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Ricardo Abraham came up with 17 points and 8 rebounds for Sameji in the defeat. Santiago Max will meet Evolve OL (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sameji's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santiago to the arena Santiago Basket.

In the last game of round 3 Immortals beat Del Patio on the road 109-100.

Capitanes - Fenix 106-121

It was an exceptional evening for forward Angel Rivas (198-1993) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Amet Gil (191-1988) accounted for 16 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. Brahian Mendez came up with 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and American forward Ralph Bellamy (193, college: Harris-Stowe St.) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Del Patio in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures.
