LDC Round 3: Fenix defeat Capitanes- January 30, 2023
What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
Capitanes - Fenix 106-121 The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Capitanes (2-1) in Santiago on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by Fenix (3-0) 121-106. Fenix looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for Chilean swingman Juan Valenzuela (191-2000) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Jefry Arias (182-1997) contributed with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Rich Polanco (203-1997, college: S.Dakota) answered with 24 points and 8 rebounds and center Adris Rodriguez (203-1988) added 13 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Capitanes. Four Fenix and five Capitanes players scored in double figures. Immortals looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Del Patio's players. It was an exceptional evening for forward Angel Rivas (198-1993) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Amet Gil (191-1988) accounted for 16 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. Brahian Mendez came up with 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and American forward Ralph Bellamy (193, college: Harris-Stowe St.) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Del Patio in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Santiago Basket upset home team edging them after exciting game by one point 102-101. Evolve OL was very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. It was a great evening for forward Alejandro Liriano (197-1981) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points. Miguel Almonte (200-1991) helped adding 13 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Braylin Lantigua with 30 points and American guard DeJon Waters Jr (190-1997, college: Pitt St.) scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. It was an exceptional evening for forward Franklyn Jaquez (197-1997) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Victor Torres accounted for 19 points for the winning side. Ricardo Abraham came up with 17 points and 8 rebounds and American guard DAngelo Elliott (196, college: Temple JC) added 15 points respectively for Sameji in the defeat. Five Santiago Max and four Sameji players scored in double figures. Santiago Max will meet Evolve OL (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
